Abstract
The main purpose of the chapter is to overview different approaches to professional digital competence of higher education teachers. The authors emphasize the role of digitalization towards the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals in the socio-economic development of the country. Its convergence in education leads to the transformation of all components of the teacher's professional activity. In dialectical connection, the structure of the teacher's professional digital competence incorporates the ability to model a technology-enhanced learning environment, facilitate students’ individual learning trajectories, deepen the vision of technology-supported teaching and learning, foster the awareness of learning processes (didactics), develop an understanding of disciplinary practices and the content knowledge. The approach will contribute to the further development and application of innovative pedagogical technologies.
