Abstract
The article is devoted to the problem of readiness of research and teaching staff to implement key innovative trends in higher education development. It is substantiated that the readiness of research and teaching staff to implement key innovative trends in higher education should be understood as the desire to acquire additional professional knowledge and skills in accordance with public interests and needs related to the leading characteristics of human capital in an innovative information society. The following world key innovative tendencies of higher education development on the basis of modern scientific ideas and pedagogical researches for the next five years are identified – rethinking the scope of activities of educational institutions; training by modules and levels; promoting a culture of innovation; increasing focus on academic achievement assessment; redesign of educational space; mixed learning format. It is established that the readiness of research and teaching staff to implement key innovative trends in the development of higher education can be stated as insufficient and requiring correction by the government, community, and higher education institutions themselves. It has been found out that the important problems that hinder implementation of trends in the development of higher education in Ukraine, predicted by world experts, are lack at the legislative level of the focus of higher education institutions on the formation of a competitive personality of the future specialist in the global labor market and insufficient cooperation of higher education institutions at the global level. Recommendations have been developed for increasing the readiness of research and teaching staff to implement key innovative trends in higher education development at the national, regional levels and at the level of higher education institutions.
