Abstract

The article is devoted to the development and justification of the conceptual model of university as a subject of research activity. The author notes that there is a lack of definition of the concept and a clear framework for the content of research activities in regulatory documents. The article emphasises a fragmentary approach to the coverage of research activity in the works of Ukrainian scientists. According to the results of the analysis of the latest publications, the most often, research activity study is carried out in the context of clarifying the role and place of the university in ensuring only certain aspects of it (education of scientists, integrity of research, internationalization of research activity, etc.). The author substantiates the relevance of a systematic approach to the formation and development of the national research ecosystem, necessary of classification and standardization of all types, branches, spheres of research activity, creation on this basis on this base of a systematic approach to study, organization, implementation, evaluation and control of the results of research activities of universities of Ukraine. The legislatively determined norms of regulation of higher education, scientific and scientific and technical activities in Ukraine and the main provisions of the methodology of the "Standard Classification of Research Activities of Australia and New Zealand" (ANZSRC) are analyzed. A conceptual model of research activities of universities is developed and proposed for implementation. The content of the main components of the conceptual model of research activity of universities is defined and revealed; I. Type of research activity; II. Fields of research; III. Social and economic goals of research activity; IV. Subjects and levels of research activity university. The university is considered as one of the key subjects of research activity in the conceptual model presented by the author. The main expected benefits from the introduction into practice of the national space of the proposed conceptual model, focused on streamlining the system of research activities of Ukrainian universities and Ukraine as a whole, are shown.
