Abstract
The article discusses the peculiarity of the formation of digital competencies of the teacher in the context of modern educational challenges – COVID-19 and the war started by the Russian Federation. The study places special emphasis on the importance of harmonious development of digital competence of all participants in the educational process. It is also noted that the development of digital competence of teachers is a promising basis for the development of new educational opportunities for organizing training and interaction between them. To be literate, in terms of the use of digital technologies, is the task of education of the XXI century. The definition of digital competence is given based on the analysis of research by leading domestic and foreign scientists. The possibilities of using modern educational tools to increase the level of digital competence of the teacher are characterized. In modern society, digital skills are basic, and the use of digital tools that are designed to solve everyday problems is one of the key requirements for a modern teacher. This study aims to determine the level of digital competence of higher education teachers, to analyze which way of professional development is optimal today. The analysis of the survey results showed that teachers are actively improving their competencies through various resources, conferences, and advanced training courses. According to the survey, the largest number of teachers improve their competence through advanced training courses and professional trainings. Also, participation in international and national conferences is at a sufficient level. This study proves that digital competence of teachers is a prerequisite for effective teaching of students in blended and distance learning. And their improvement is the key to successful activities in conducting seminars, lectures, practical and laboratory classes.
