Abstract
The system of working with media texts in textbooks of Ukrainian literature for 5-6 grades of the National Academy of Sciences is considered. The effectiveness of the use of media texts in the process of studying the linguistic and literary field is proven by the presence of a linguistic and cultural line in them, the overlay of informational, linguistic, and artistic pictures of the world, the existence of modern mass awareness of cultural phenomena, the influence on the formation of the value system. It is noted that media texts are an organic part of modern literature textbooks, and contribute to the formation of reading literacy, the development of critical competencies, and the research and creative abilities of students.
