Abstract
The article analyzes domestic and foreign experience in the use of augmented and virtual reality technologies in the educational process. Based on a theoretical study of the problem, it was found that immersive technologies are developing rapidly and are increasingly used in all areas of our lives. It is determined that virtual reality contributes to the transformation of the educational process; improvement of existing and emergence of new organizational forms, types and methods of teaching. It is noted that additional research is needed: the development of methods for the use of immersive technologies in the study of specific disciplines in compliance with sanitary and epidemiological requirements. It is determined that for the effective use of augmented and virtual reality in the educational process requires a specially created environment that will fully meet modern requirements. It is noted that in our country the use of virtual reality for educational purposes is just beginning to develop, this is due to the lack of highly qualified specialists in this field, as well as the lack of specific methods. Due to the use of immersive technologies in the educational process, subjects develop spatial imagination, stimulate thinking, mental activity. Despite the attractiveness and prospects of the development of virtual technologies should not overestimate their role in learning, if there is a possibility of real learning, experience, experiment, it is worth giving preference to real.
