Abstract

The article is devoted to the peculiarities of the applied direction in the study of computer science at school and the problem of implementation of the applied aspect, which forms students' understanding of computer science as a method of cognition and transformation of the world. Informatics is an applied science that has unlimited areas of application in the modern world: in science, economics, technology, production, education. The course of computer science is designed to make a significant contribution to the labor and polytechnic training of students. Such a wide use of computer science in various spheres of human life emphasizes the importance of studying in school precisely the applied aspects of this science. Society needs a competent, creative person who is able to take an active part in the development of modern production, economy, science and culture. This poses new challenges to the modern school to improve education and prepare students for practical activities. One of the directions of modernization of modern information education is to strengthen the applied orientation of the school course of computer science, ie the connection of its content and teaching methods with practice. The urgency of strengthening the applied orientation of the school course of informatics is determined by the need for: social demand of the young generation, able to use the means of informatics and information technology; development of the concept of applied orientation of the school course of informatics and ways of its realization at different stages of teaching informatics; disclosure and use of didactic potential of applied orientation of school course of computer science; development of principles of selection, typification of practical material interesting from the applied point of view, and also development and modernization of a technique of the decision and use of applied problems. Emphasis is placed on the fact that the disclosure of applied aspects of computer science and their use in the learning process is the main content of the applied orientation of the school course of computer science. The main stages and ways of realization of training of applied orientation of a school course of computer science are noted. In the context of the analyzed problem, it is worth considering in the article the concept of the applied orientation of teaching computer science at school and ways to implement it at different stages of learning. The applied orientation of the course of computer science is considered from the point of view of two most important interconnected functions: worldview and socio-pedagogical.
