Abstract
The relevance of the investigated problem is explained by the fact that the educational system of professional (vocational) education has undergone changes due to the COVID‐19 pandemic not only in Ukraine but also worldwide. The development and impact of digital technologies on society over the past decades has been highlighted in various types of documents. However, the development of digital technologies to enable communication, collaboration and learning during COVID‐19 has not yet been considered. The challenges of the information civilization, aggravated by the COVID‐19 pandemic, actualize the importance of digitalization for the professional training of specialists in professional (vocational) education institutions. The forced accelerated introduction of digital tools into the educational process of various types and levels of educational institutions served as an indicator of the problems and requests of educators and applicants for educational services to master digital tools, which necessitated the need to conduct special pedagogical research on the subject of identifying the attitude and experience of education specialists in the use of digital tools in professional educational activities. In particular, the International Partnership of Distance and Online Learning for COVID‐19 indicated that the unprecedented events caused by COVID‐19 have led to the closure of educational institutions around the world. According to UNESCO estimates, more than 90% of the world's student population cannot attend classes and must stay at home. Particularly vulnerable are those students, who study in countries where there is no access to appropriate devices and the Internet. The rapid spread of digital technologies makes digital skills (competencies) key among other skills. Thus, digitalization is now the main trend on the general labor market. So, the ability to work with digital technologies becomes permanent and necessary for most specializations. The proposed review of the empirical research highlights the results of an electronic survey of education professionals using the Google Forms web service. The developed survey consists of the following questions: age; sex; belonging to the region; introduction of digitalization in an educational institution; digitized types of educational products, etc. The analysis of the activities of educational organizations concerned the access of educational process participants to the Internet at the workplace; electronic control systems and organization of the educational process. The value of this article is to provide a holistic picture of the implementation of digitalization in professional (vocational) education institutions during the COVID‐19 quarantine period.
