Abstract

The article outlines the role of competency-oriented tasks in the process of forming key and subject competencies of students. The structure and principles of constructing competence-oriented tasks are also presented. Samples of tasks aimed at the formation of reading literacy for use in textbooks of Ukrainian literature of the New Ukrainian School are recommended.
