Abstract
It is stated that in order to promote gender parity in the research sector, the EU implements a systemic policy aimed at supporting the initiatives of Member States. In Ukraine, there are also problems with gender parity in science, the key ones being: horizontal gender segregation, which is confirmed by the disciplinary advantages of female and male researchers, and vertical gender segregation, which is expressed in the fact that the share of women decreases with increasing qualification level. According to a survey results of the researchers of the Comparative Education Department of the Institute of Pedagogy of the NAES of Ukraine, it is concluded that gender parity is considered as one of the priorities of science development in Ukraine, and the EU guidelines for implementing gender equality in research and innovation are supported by the vast majority of the researchers. At the same time, both their promotion among Ukrainian researchers and their implementation at the level of regulatory principles and state policy in Ukraine are urgent.
