Abstract
The article consider possible theoretical approaches to studying the motivation to learn of modern schoolchildren. These approaches will help in the operationalization of the components of this motivation in creating a system of its psychological diagnosis. It is shown that without the correct use of psychodiagnostic information it is impossible to notice and prevent a decrease in motivation to learn at school and increase the effectiveness of the educational process.
