Abstract
The article provides a detailed description of the content and the replenishment of the headings through the prism of historical and bibliographic research of individual biographies of the foreign reformist teachers of the late XIX-early XX centuries of the electronic resource “Outstanding Teachers of Ukraine and the World”: Georg Kerschensteiner, Maria Montessori, Wilhelm August Lay, Célestin Freinet, John Dewey, Ludwig Gurlitt and Robert Seidel. The electronic resource, posted on the web portal of V. O. Sukhomlynskyi State Scientific and Pedagogical Library of Ukraine (SSPL), demonstrates the life and scientific achievements of teachers-reformers. A detailed characteristics of the chapters is given: “Biography”, “Bibliography of Works”, “Bibliography of Publications about Life and Activity”, “Full-text Documents”, “Photo Gallery”, “Educational Institutions that Work According to the Teacher's System”, “Institutions to which the Teacher's Name is Dedicated”, etc. It is found out that the ideas of the analyzed reformist teachers (ideas of freedom, dignity, child-centeredness, humanism) enter the modern educational process of Ukraine, in particular the new Ukrainian school, and become the basis of modern principles of teaching and upbringing, the vector of the pedagogical movement. It is emphasized why the study, rethinking and re-reading of the reformist teaching has become relevant among of the modern researchers. It is proved that the information and bibliographic resource “Outstanding Teachers of Ukraine and the World” is a sort of pedagogical platform, a sources of information in is a source of information in the teaching and learning of pedagogical sciences, in particular the history of pedagogy, providing scientists, teachers, students with information about certain pedagogical pro-cesses, personalities, events. It is demonstrated that the resource reveals the funds of SSPL, V. I. Vernadskyi National Library of Ukraine, the National Historical Library of Ukraine, the Scientific Library of M. P. Drahomanov National Pedagogical University and other book collections, Pedagogical Museum of the NAPS of Ukraine, directs to relevant sources in the online library of Google Books, to online libraries of European countries. It is emphasized that in future, the information and bibliographic resource “Outstanding Teachers of Ukraine and the World” will be replenished with new personalities (Jean Ovid Decrolli, Heinrich Charelman), which development are planned as part of the scientific topic for 2021.
