Abstract
The article summarizes the results of a survey of teachers of Ukrainian language and literature, teachers of vocational (higher technical) and higher pedagogical education, methodologists of postgraduate education institutions on the problems of theory and practice of Ukrainian language teaching methods. The questions of the questionnaire concerned the quality of educational and methodological support of institutions of higher and postgraduate pedagogical education, the system of self-education of teachers, the problem of the method in modern linguodidactics, as well as the readiness of teachers to introduce competency-based methods of teaching Ukrainian. The answers of the recipients confirm the researchers' assumptions about the problems of interpretation of the method, classification of methods of competence-oriented teaching of the Ukrainian language, proper "certification" of key methods, which should contribute to understanding the essence of modern methods and their effective implementation in education.
