Abstract
The article highlights the results of a theoretical study of the time perspective and its impact on the formation of value orientations. The bases of comprehension of the concept "time perspective of the personality" are defined, the analysis of its maintenance is given. Modern scientific research of time perspectives has shown their leading role in managing a person's time of their life, confirmed that life goals, set adequately to the abilities, capabilities, system of knowledge and experience, as well as ways to implement them in a given social context serve as support in today's activities. In the paradigm of Western psychology, the person is a creator of their own life and the events that take place in it depend on the expectations of the individual. Expectations are closely linked to a person's worldview, value system and beliefs. The ability to predict is closely linked to the development of human perception of time and space - two fundamental aspects of life. From the point of view of psychology of development, formation of values and ability to predict in the course of growth and formation of the person occurs at the same time. The study of events allows us to determine a discrete picture of the future, represented by a row of successive moments, «points» on the lines of life directed to the future. The factors that determine the movement along these lines from event to event, are the value orientations of the individual, on which the system of social values perceived by the individual is based. Planning their future, outlining specific events - plans and goals, a person proceeds primarily from a certain hierarchy of values represented in their mind. Selective orientation to these values is reflected in the hierarchy of value orientations of the individual. Value orientations do not have the certainty that is inherent in the goals and plans formed at the appropriate level. Due to this, they perform a more flexible regulatory function. Their subject is a certain sphere of life, a line of behavior designed for a period of time that is difficult to establish in advance for the direct realization of expectations relevant to the situation, the hierarchy of values. Thus, the more differentiated the time perspective is, the more formed are the value orientations. Accordingly, the more future-oriented adolescents are, the more formed their value orientations are.
