Abstract
The formation and development of key competencies and subject reading in particular is supported by organized educational activities, the implementation of which is a system of competency-oriented questions and tasks. The materials present how a methodically well-thought-out system of this type of questions and tasks at each stage of the lesson is a very important component of a successful educational process. Competence learning involves not only the acquisition of students' knowledge, skills and abilities in Ukrainian literature, but also awareness of their practical application, and thus a significant increase in reading activity and cognitive interest in the subject
