Abstract
The article analyzes the psychological structure of economic self-determination of the individual as a subjective component of economic socialization, which is associated with his/her awareness and understanding of his/her role in the system of appropriation and use of economic goods. The author discusses the socio-psychological foundations of working students' economic self-determination, whose leading factors are personal well-being and the formation of self, rather than the formation of professional identity. Work alongside studies has been found to have a positive effect on the formation of students' economic thinking, economic ideas and skills of economic behavior. A significant role in working students' economic socialization is played by their psychological readiness for economic activity, their economic consciousness, vitality and readiness for independent life. Students' economic self-determination implies their having necessary motivation and such qualities as activity, responsibility, sociability, creativity, persistence, etc. Together, economic socialization and economic self-determination determine the working students' ability to make effective economic activity actors as well as their achievement and socio-economic development motivation, which occurs in parallel with their acquisition of a profession. Self-determination is seen as a relatively independent stage of socialization, which develops individuals' awareness of the purpose and meaning of life, as well as their readiness for independent living based on their desires, personal qualities, capabilities and requirements.
