Abstract
The peculiarities of the use of competence-oriented tasks in Ukrainian language lessons are revealed. It is emphasized that the competence-oriented tasks are a set of consistent actions offered to the student, the implementation of which will stimulate independence in acquiring knowledge, encourage creativity, promote the activation of his educational and cognitive activities, gaining life experience and more. The essence of the following components of competence-oriented tasks singled out in scientific works is highlighted: stimulus, task formulation, source of information, evaluation criteria. Examples of competence-oriented tasks are given. It has been suggested that the systematic use of competence-based tasks in Ukrainian language lessons encourages students to find effective solutions to problems that may be mutually agreed to further develop partnerships, resolve conflicts, etc.
