Abstract

The importance of studying the senior pupils’ creative thinking displays for their psychological health, self-realization in learning, communication, professional and generally life fulfilment in the future is substantiated. The theoretical foundations of the development are considered: the battery of tests by J. Guilford, in particular, the main parameters of creativity that he identified as: semantic flexibility, figurative adaptive flexibility, semantic spontaneous flexibility, originality; E. Torrance's battery of tests regarding parameters: lightness, flexibility, originality; the implementation of which showed the presence of a relationship between the level of intelligence and the level of creativity. The requirements established by D. B. Bogoyavlenskaya for the methodological means of studying the manifestations of creative thinking are formulated. The attention is focused on the peculiarities of the KARUS system implementation in relation to the diagnosis of the senior pupils’ creative thinking activity. In particular, the features of the implementation of a number of developed subtests as a complex of express diagnostics tools are substantiated. Instructions for the subjects are formulated. Recommendations on the use of stimulus material and the analysis of research results according to the developed parameters are given. It is shown that the solution by the subjects of these experimental tasks allows obtaining information on the senior pupils’ creative thinking displays in various spheres of creative activity, in particular: literary, artistic, technical, etc., as well as their ability to mobilize their creative efforts in the process of solving problems in complicated conditions (with limited time, lack of information, etc.). The emphasis is made on the need to take into account such an essential component of creative thinking as its efficiency, in particular, when organizing the work of out-of-school associations of senior pupils, whose activities are important both for the development of their creative thinking and for conscious professional self-determination.
