Abstract

The constructivist approach has always been present in psychological science in various degrees, and now it is the most promising area of the research based on the general provisions of the constructivism theory, it is important to include in the general system of preparing children for school such activities as construction, thereby ensuring the development of the ability to create various semantic constructs in both subject-practical and internal mental activity of a child. The inclusion in the system of preparing children for the school of teaching construction according to the KARUS system allows developing all the components of such a psychological construct as the child’s readiness for school. The ability to transfer analogues and a variety of combinations to new social and cognitive situations allows preschoolers to better adapt to the conditions of schooling. In the activity of construction using the KARUS method, the arbitrariness of mental processes develops, preconditions for understanding the new educational material by analogy are created, the semiotic function of the psyche develops. All this contributes to a deeper and richer formation in a child of an inner position of the pupil.
