Abstract
The article is devoted to the novel "Museum of Abandoned Secrets" by O. Zabuzhko (2009), which is interpreted as a traditional and innovative text. The postmodern intertextuality, typical for modern literature, "fits" Ukrainian histories into the world cultural context and at the same time reinforces expressive national dominants, actualized by a bizarre and passionate reproduction of the history of Ukrainian liberation struggles. This is a feature of the new literature — post-postmodernism. The novel debunks the myth of the "strong man", and the relationship between a woman and a man is seen as a partnership and harmony. The dominant of O. Zabuzhko's novel is its intellectual component, which is realized not only in the original solution of the stated problems, in the extraordinary saturation of the novel with extraordinary thoughts, but also by the type of the hero. The main characters of the work are Daryna and her parents, Andrian Vatamanyuk, Andrian Ortynsky, Gelya, Vlasta — well-educated urbanists, "cultural heroes", according to I. Andrusyak — "hunting" cohort of heroes (journalists, engineers, theoretical physicists, artists), who think, make mistakes, develop, make decisions, have their system of values, etc. O. Zabuzhko "compares" the most important priorities of his heroes with national values, traditions, and art (fiction, music, painting).
