Abstract
The article considers digital society trends, digital trends and challenges for the education of Ukraine, harmonization of educational trends in Ukraine with European and world scientific initiatives. Based on the analytical review of the characteristics and features of the digitization process in the European Union, as well as the results of studying the needs of educational institutions of Ukraine, the ways of solving the problems that have been formed by the process of digitalization of society and its influence on the development of the educational system have been worked out. It has been found difficult to predict what job requirements would be in the future, but it is clear that all professionals will need a constantly updated, dynamic digital toolkit. An analytical review of the European Commission's actions has shown that in today's society there is an urgent need to address the problems posed by digitization. It has been clarified that the European Commission is promoting various initiatives aimed at: improving the digital skills of the public; modernization of education in the European Union; use of digital technologies for training, recognition and validation of the level of digital competence; anticipation and analysis of needs for digital competencies and skills. This indicates the need for creative planning, the formation of the ability of educators to make timely decisions. Education of Ukraine faces the task of developing a background for lifelong learning, facilitating the development of flexible approaches to providing and receiving qualitive education, encouraging creative thinking. The lack of preparation of the educational system for «digital vortex» can be a huge threat to the development of the country.
