Abstract

The article presents the results of analysis of changes in the conditions of development of children of the senior preschool age during the transition to schooling. The data collected by questioning the parents in three cities of Ukraine (Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Kropyvnitsky) is provided. Also, fixed paternal expectations about the results and success of the development of children in the first grades of secondary schools are presented; assessment of child's readiness for schooling; factors that have become decisive for making a decision to change the social situation of development. The interest in the collected data is aggravated by the fact that the sample of respondents was made up of parents of the first students of the first classes of the New Ukrainian School. The article emphasizes the positions proving that in the first grade of the school children begin to study preschool children. Therefore, in order to ensure their high-quality, full-fledged development, conditions should be created that will allow for the possibility to take into account individual peculiarities, the pace of development, the area of the immediate and actual development.
