Abstract

It is shown that Psychotherapeutic travel alone (PTA) reveals itself as an effective method of prolonged psychotherapeutic influence on the clients with neurotic and caused by stress somatoform disorders, as well as with non-complicated affective disorders, mature personality disorders and some behavioral syndromes (sex dysfunction; disorders of sleep, eating behavior). The PTA serves to develop and consolidate the positive effect of previous psychotherapeutic work. The theoretical basis of the PTA is the key provisions of Multimodal suggestive psychotherapy. It is established that the PTA allows the most efficient use of the sanogenic potential of the natural adaptation process. It is determined that the dynamics of a person’s well-being during an ordinary trip alone is similar to the dynamics of the unfolding of a general stress reaction - the stage of excitation, the stage of resistance, the stage of exhaustion. With the implementation of the PTA the stage of exhaustion does not occur. This result is possible if adhere to the following basic principles: independence and personal responsibility; voluntariness; prolongation of the positive effect of previous psychotherapy; suggestive accompaniment; priority of the present; attitude to travel as an ongoing process; openness to new experience; optimal pace of movement; moderate loads; reasonableness of risk; variety of travel ways; continuity of movements; minimalism on the road; mimicry; capturing impressions. When implementing the PTA it is necessary to adhere to the principle of gradualness. It is shown that before starting a psychotherapeutic travel, it is necessary for the client to form a suggestive attitude towards the development of such basic skills as self-sufficiency, adaptability and creativity. The experience of the successfully implemented PTA can be used to further define a personally ideal lifestyle.
