Abstract

One of the most characteristic features of the modern world is its constant variability. As Kazimierz Doktór notices – contemporary organizing thought, both modernist, treats power not only as a game for rule, but as a dynamic process of allocation of decision-making chances in organizations, but without a rigid corset of formal structures of „authority”. Education has been one of the most important structures of developing societies for centuries. It not only enters into mutual relations with the economy, the legal system, but indirectly also shapes the social structure. Hence, it would seem that the professionalization of management of educational institutions should proceed in parallel to the development of the importance of these institutions. Therefore, the problem of the functioning of educational institutions can rightly be embedded in the context of the so-called „Turbulent Environment” [1]. The term „turbulence in management” refers to a series of changes taking place in modern societies and economies that constitute the context for the management of an organization. It derives from economic sciences and management sciences.
