Abstract
A prerequisite for the effective use of information and communication technologies in the learning process is an empirical approach - an experimental test of the positive and negative effects of technology on the development of the younger generation. Today, such terms and concepts as "e-learning", "e-pedagogy", "e-textbook", "e-book", etc., borrowed from the English language, are widely used. Very often they are not differentiated or explained. There is a certain chaos of definitions, due, in our opinion, the crisis of science, the lack of conceptual and terminological apparatus, different approaches of the authors to the interpretation of certain processes, as well as multifaceted, multidimensional and contradictory components included in certain definitions. In the context of the existing problems, there is a mismatch between the values of human health and the simultaneous impact of information and communication technologies on human health, especially among young people. The hypothesis that computers can serve as a teacher, or even a textbook, and extend their influence to other "objects" (students) seems bold and absurd.
