Abstract
The article reveals the peculiarities of attitudes to future family life at different stages of moving into adulthood. Pupils’ ideas about an ideal marriage partner and the distribution of family roles between a husband and a wife are discussed. We determined certain social stereotypic ideas regarding the age of marriage, or social stereotypes that most girls and boys followed during moving into adulthood, which in turn could lead to marriage with inadequate motivation, but because of following social norms at some stages of the development of society. The main priority in the future family life was given to opportunities for self-improvement, which would be provided under conditions of high sociability, dialogues with a partner, constant exchange of ideas, developed abilities of both partners not only to “listen” but also to hear each other. We noted the need to develop special programs preparing growing people for future family life, with taking into account the individual approach, value priorities and meaningful life orientations of modern youth. It is important at the stage of preparation for family life to study family values, attitudes, behavioural stereotypes, which are engraved at the very early stages of children’s personal development in families and unconsciously emerge in their future marital and family relationships.
