Abstract

The article analyses the relevance and history of hardiness’ studies, the content of this phenomenon, its relation to concepts that are close in meaning, and the importance for human life. We define the professional hardiness of personality as a systemic personality and professional trait, which is formed in throughout the professional life, manifesting himself in a certain level of involvement in professional activity, control over it and accepting "professional risks", and provides his ability to withstand unfavorable work, development of professional maladaptation, disorders of health and providing personal and professional growth.
