Abstract

The defeat of the left forces in 1946–1949 Civil war in Greece caused the mass exodus of the former fighters to the states of the socialist orientation. In new environments the Greek political emigrants were able to create strong educational centers, to provide them with didactical materials and staff. The textbooks on Modern Greek languages and literature for high classes of the national Greek school in abroad dating 1952–1974 reflect the educational and culturological concepts of the Greek diaspora, which promoted an upbringing of the nationally conscious youth and its future repatriation.
