Abstract
The research represents a methodological model of analyzing belletristic descriptions at the lessons of Ukrainian literature in senior school. The article substantiates the viability of introducing chronotopical, anthropocentric and conceptual approaches to the analysis of belletristic descriptions, the algorithm of their implementation into the school practical work being elaborated. The investigation presents a complex of interconnected knowledge and skills that must be mastered by the senior students in the process of an epic work’s descriptive elements analysis, the succession of the learning activity at the stages of the theoretical, reading, analytical and synthetical work with an epic writing. The article convincingly proves that students’ reading focus on descriptive elements does not shift the accents from the perception of belletristic material’s integrity to fragmentarity but on the contrary it imparts commitment of an epic work’s analysis to the text as a system of interrelated constituents. The research identifies that descriptive elements subordinate to realizing the main idea their anthropocentric, local and temporal and conceptual commitment being stipulated. The investigation views the analysis of belletristic descriptions in senior forms as a process provided by the sequence of fulfilling certain stages, educational tasks, practices and forms of students’ learning activity organization. The article defines the indicators of productive belletristic descriptions analysis such as the development of reader’s interest to belletristic works, the skill of considering belletristic descriptions in the interartistic context, the faculty of using the knowledge of literature theory for the analysis and interpretation of a belletristic work, the ability of determining functional capacities of descriptions through the prism of anthropocentric, local and temporal and conceptual levels of a piece of work, of using the gained knowledge in new learning and life situations. The research defines the development of skills of a belletristic work’s holistic analysis and its descriptive components as one of the important means of forming senior students’ subject reading competence.
