Abstract

The article proposes the definition of subject competence in the Ukrainian language, outlines the ways of its formation in students through the formation of the following components: knowledge, skills, gaining speech experience, achieving language stability, gives examples of exercises effective in forming language stability of students. Emphasis is placed on the peculiarities of the selection of the content of Ukrainian language teaching for lyceum students.
