Abstract

Learning Ukrainian and reading in a modern elementary school is changing and this is due to objective reasons. According to the requirements of the New Ukrainian School and the State Standard of Elementary Education, students should not only learn to read aloud, but also to use this ability to find the necessary information in the text, in order to obtain the necessary knowledge and, accordingly, to better master other disciplines, as well as to enrich their readership experience and intelligence. Literary reading lessons play a key role in the formation of reading competence and is a priority goal in elementary school.
