Abstract

The report reveals the main achievements of the scientific and scientific and organizational activities in close connection with the scientific and informational, scientific and methodological, sociocultural work of V.O. Sukhomlynskyi State Scientific and Pedagogical Library of Ukraine during 2015-2019. It has been reasoned that the scientific and scientific and organizational work of the institution has a scientific and applied character and is aimed at solving urgent issues of information support for education, pedagogy and psychology. Fundamental changes have occurred in the approaches to the implementation of the scientific research, which has a positive impact on the activities of the library, as well as at the networks of educational libraries in Ukraine. The prospects for the further development of the V.O. Sukhomlynskyi State Scientific and Pedagogical Library of Ukraine have been determined: designing the educational and information environment and electronic resources; providing access to the international information resources; formation of own databases, collections of the Scientific and Pedagogical Electronic Library, replenishment of the electronic resource “Library of the New Ukrainian School” on the Library web portal and their presentation in the global information network; creation of the digital content of rare editions and the like. The necessity for the implementation of the worked out Strategy for the V.O. Sukhomlynskyi State Scientific and Pedagogical Library of Ukraine development has been proved, taking into account new changes in the field of education and information challenges for its approval in the structure of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine as a powerful scientific, scientific and informational, scientific and methodological, cultural and educational centre of Ukraine known also beyond its borders.
