Abstract
Innovative processes of socio-economic development and growing demand for specialists in high-tech industries, capable of complex scientific and engineering activities, fostered formation and developmentof STEM educational direction, which became a pedagogical innovation of the 21st century. The authors identify and outline the features, theoretical and practical aspects of implementingSTEM education in Ukraine. The publication proposes models for integrating formal and non-formal educationfirst of allfor gifted students, who in the future may form the basis of transformational processes for education in general. Emphasis is placed on the use of scientific method and engineering design in construction of STEM training activities, the peculiarities of the educational STEM environment are revealed, methodological approaches to organization of STEM projects are offered, their application is demonstrated by specific examples. The manual is aimed at developing a deeper understanding of the latest trends in education that are designed to prepare the next generation for the demands of today's economy. The publication is intended for teachers, methodologists, students of higher education institutions and anyone interested in the subject.
