Abstract

In the article, on the basis of the analysis of scientific works in pedagogy, linguistics and linguistics, the features of the use of the text as a means of forming the key competences of students of 10‒11 classes in the Ukrainian language lessons are defined. The author distinguishes the following: change of function of the text in the lesson of the Ukrainian language ‒ from information-presentation to cognitive-motivational; a selection of texts of different genre and style belonging, which violated the current problems for current students and revealed the prospects of self-improvement, self-development and self-education. According to the scientist, special attention of the Ukrainian language teacher requires the development of tasks that will stimulate the educational and cognitive activity of high school students.
