Abstract
Digital technologies are increasingly penetrating various spheres of life and have become the standard in education, science and research in many developed countries. The introduction of digital technologies in education requires systematic and comprehensive support, which should be directed to the practice of their use and to modern forms and methods of teaching. Without modern tools, the teacher can no longer organize the learning process. Accordingly, in order to accomplish these tasks, the teacher must possess the tools and use them to achieve a pedagogical goal, which requires the professional development of the teacher. EU countries are addressing the digital competence of teachers in different ways.
