Abstract
Informatization and digitization are becoming an integral part of the educational process of general secondary education institutions, and the development of the infrared competence of the modern teacher is a key issue in the implementation of educational reforms. These questions identify the major problems in the development of 21st century education and require additional study, monitoring and coordination of implementation. The publication deals with the informatization and digitization of general secondary education, namely initiatives and educational implementation. The processes of informatization and digitization remain relevant and require new approaches both in scientific and methodological justification and in implementation processes. It is noted that the educational community requires new principles, evaluation criteria and learning tools in the information age and the need to match the capabilities of educators with the rapidly evolving capabilities of the digital environment. Initiatives of the Institute of Information Technologies and Teaching Aids of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine have identified the main directions of development of the processes of informatization and digitalization of the system of general secondary education of Ukraine, which can be used in the preparation of normative-legal acts of digitalization of education.
