Abstract
The article is devoted to the problem of determination and substantiation of theoretical and methodological foundations of the educational foreign language communicative environment content for competence-oriented teaching foreign languages of primary school students. The author considers the educational foreign language communicative environment as a balanced complex of forms and means in teaching, promoting active learning communication by students in different types of speech activity in accordance with the spheres, topics and language material outlined by the curriculum. The content of the predicted educational foreign-language communicative environment is characterized by the presence of invariant and variant components, which is diversified due to the peculiarity of the objectives of teaching a foreign language as a means of intercultural communication. The invariant components include the subjects of the educational process, their activity at the lessons, didactic and methodical principles of teaching, the need for the use of reasonably selected and methodically and rationally organized exercises and tasks as means of mastering the educational foreign-language material. The variant components are the types, kinds and a number of exercises and tasks that are added to the content of the lessons, which often depends on the conditions of education, objects of activation and control mechanisms for mastering the educational material, time limits for the implementation of training activities provided for the conduct of operations and actions in order to learn a new linguistic unit, communication mechanisms and certain types of speech activity. The determining characteristic of the educational foreign language communicative environment is its ability to facilitate the modeling students’ communicative directed action. The modeling process should include certain components that characterize the teaching foreign language communication as a complex activity that should take place in a continuous progressive development, in particular: target, content, procedural, control and evaluation components. The author characterizes these components and presents a model of the educational foreign language environment, which outlines the essential characteristics of its main components. He also identified, summarized and formulated the functions of the competence-oriented teaching foreign languages to primary school students.
