Abstract

Functions of a variative component of profile biological education which are proved in a domestic science are specified. The emphasis is on the new functions of the variative component of profile biological education, which is conditioned by the need to develop young people's skills for a successful life in the 21st century. These are training and innovation skills, information literacy, professional and life skills, including flexibility and adaptability, initiative and autonomy; skills of social and intercultural interaction, productivity and responsibility, leadership and ability to answer for their actions.
