Abstract
The article deals with the problem of formation of information-cognitive component of professional competence of the prospective economists. This component is represented by general scientific erudition, knowledge of universal methods of cognition of reality, awareness in the field of humanitarian, natural disciplines, professional knowledge in the field of economics. Based on the analysis of domestic and foreign experience of economists' professional training, it was concluded that the use of electronic educational resources (ESM) in the teaching and upbringing process of the university with the aim of forming an information-cognitive component of the professional competence of the prospective economists is made. It is established that such ESM can include electronic textbooks, multimedia training courses, as well as learning management systems (LMS), which allow for the organization of distance learning. The advantages and disadvantages of these electronic educational resources are analyzed. It is concluded that distance learning systems are a promising direction for increasing the level of information-cognitive component of professional competence of the prospective economists. Information is provided about free distance courses posted on the Internet, which can be recommended for students who are educated in economic specialties.
