Abstract
The article analyses the views of foreign scientists on the use of a combination of traditional and distance forms of educational process. A number of problems which are solved by the use of blended learning are highlighted. Blended learning allows to democratize the process of education and, at the same time, promotes the development of critical thinking, disciplinary students, teaches them to plan their activities. Key assumptions of blended learning, which the teacher must implement, are stressed. LMS Moodle combines affordability and configuration simplicity with flexibility and ability to adapt to different characteristics of educational process - creation o f a platform for distance learning courses or involvement in the organization of blended learning. The choice of LMS Moodle for submission of using blended learning on the basis of the subject "New information technologies" for students of both humanitarian and natural specialties is justification. The aim of the course is the formation of modern information culture and computer literacy in students, the acquisition of practical skills of work with modern information and computer technologies.
