Abstract

The article is devoted to one of the aspects of the problem of updating the content and methods of teaching the Ukrainian language at school. The author substantiates the expediency of introducing a new section - "Practical Rhetoric" into the language syllabus of the Ukrainian language for students of grades 10-11 (standard level), defining the place, role and tasks of rhetoric in school. Given the new challenges of school language education, the desire to integrate the national education system into the European and world educational space, the essence of modern rhetoric, its introduction into the program is reasonable and relevant.
