Abstract
The problem of mastering students of the state language is considered in the context of the prospects of the New Ukrainian School, taking into account national, world trends and the results of a completed study. The theoretical principles of teaching the syntax and punctuation of the Ukrainian language in the coordinates of the new educational paradigm are grounded, the innovative methodology, which was implemented in the textbook "Ukrainian language" for the 8th form of the Higher Educational Institutions / V. Novosilov, N. Bondarenko, is briefly described. - "Pedagogical thought", 2016. The contents and structure of the textbook are described, the system of tasks and exercises is described.
