Abstract

The defining role of the syntax in the formation and expression of thought, which can not be expressed differently than in the form of a sentence - a unit of syntax and building material for a text / statement, is substantiated. The text is described as the basis for the development of all types of speech activity and competencies, a statement of expression, product and the result of speech. The features and functions of the text, which determine the content and specificity of work with it, are determined and disclosed.
