Abstract
The theses reveal the relevance of the introduction of formative assessment , analyzes its essence and forms in comparison with the classical current evaluation. The components of the formative assessment are characterized: active participation of students in the process of their own education, informing students about the goals and criteria of evaluation, the use of self-evaluation and mutual evaluation, active feedback between the student and the teacher.
