Abstract

In the articles the authors characterize the genesis of comparative education in Europe, the United States, countries of Eastern Asia region – China, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, South Korea; analyze transformations of methodology of comparative education under the challenges of globalization; highlight the history of comparative education school in Ukraine on the example of Comparative Education Department of Institute of Pedagogy of National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine, present the achievements of the Department, outline prospects of comparative education studies in the context of globalization challenges and cardinal reforms of the national education.
