Abstract
The article reveals the relevance of systematic study of syntax and punctuation course of Ukrainian-based personality oriented, competence and activity approaches; discovers their essence; describes the typical syntax errors and analyzes their causes; defines the task of teaching syntax and punctuation in grades 8-9 based on these approaches; outlines innovative ways of restructuring teaching methods; justifies psychological, psycholinguistic, language framework for designing methods of teaching syntax and punctuation in grades 8-9.
