Abstract
The concept of studying the geography of Ukraine in primary and secondary schools is created as a framework document, identifying the key vectors of the development of the geography of Ukraine in the school, where the key contemporary aspects of geographic education are considered on the basis of courses covering a comprehensive, from the point of view of geography, study of their homeland. The concept highlights current trends in the development of Ukraine's geography, which should initiate a discussion on the improvement and modernization of the relevant sections of the State Educational Standards, which, in their turn, provide new curricula. The main aspects of the dialectical interdependence of the concept of studying the geography of Ukraine in the primary and secondary schools, the Ukrainian geographic component of the State Educational Standards and the curricula of the geography courses of Ukraine for the main school are highlighted here. The Concept covers the aspects of geographic education in the courses of geography of Ukraine in school: here there are isolated philosophical, psychological and pedagogical, didactic bases and methodical features of studying the geography of Ukraine in high school and lyceum. In addition to forming a system of geographical concepts and competencies, the Concept addresses contemporary and innovative approaches to the educational process and the educational process in the context of the patriotic and educational component.
