Abstract
The article deals with the part mass-media plays in creating living conditions of a modern person which entail the potential for experiencing psychological well-being. There has been an attempt to define the guidelines for the ecologization of modern mass-media environment. The specific nature of the psychologist's job who works with the public through different types of mass-media has been discovered. The authors substantiate the necessity of further training for psychologists who communicate with the public through different types of mass-media: broadcasting, radio, the internet and printed editions of popular science. It is essential for experts to be aware of personal and professional responsibility for the content they are trying to communicate to the audience as well as for the choice of the communication style and avoidance of the techniques of manipulating conscience. Maintaining an optimistic outlook on life is presented as a method for preventing information from having a detrimental effect on human psyche. Therefore it is crucial to teach the public to resist negative information received via mass-media, while being able to perceive it consciously and critically and also to use it in a creative way. Psychological well-being of a Ukrainian, which is maintained and is potentially actualized through the interaction with a qualified media-psychologist, expands to real life situations, defining their goals and intentions now and in the future.
