Abstract
The general and linguistic culture guarantees successful professional activity, the prospect of career growth of the individual, its high social status and belonging to the Ukrainian elite. The Ukrainian language plays an important role in the process realization of life's plans for graduates of institutions of general secondary education. At the present stage of development of the new Ukrainian school, the issue of socialization of the younger generation must be resolved. The article defines the goals and objectives of the school, takes into account the need to developing core competencies in the upper secondary school pupils. The authors present social competence model in order to be able to use it in the educational process. The core of social competence is the notions among which the authors singled out the following: «a person as a biopsychosociocultural phenomenon»; «socialization»; «social adaptation»; «social interaction»; «social differentiation of society»; «social organization of society»; «social health»; «social origin»; «social environment»; «social development»; «social status»; «social groups»; «social institutions»; «social processes»; «social roles»; «important social system problems»; «socion»; «socionom». In the process of socialization of the individual, the school must take into account the following important factors: the dependence of the person’s life experience from the immediate environment and the microenvironment; individual-typological qualities of personality; historical situation; national peculiarities; the social origin of a person and the socio-economic position of the family; socio-cultural differences; sexual differences; the uniqueness of Ukrainian culture and Ukrainian society. An important role in the processes of socialization of the person plays reflection as a phenomenon of social conscience. Conclusions: socialization of upper secondary school pupils is an important task of the new Ukrainian school; the process of socialization of the pupils should be organized purposefully in the lessons of all subjects; the state Ukrainian language is one of the important factors of socialization and social adaptation of school youth; the development of competence-oriented pedagogical technology for teaching the Ukrainian language and the appropriate methodology for measuring its results is a time requirement; creating and implementing the technology of competence training of the Ukrainian language, it is necessary to take into account the main components of the structure of social competence.
