Abstract

In modern society the professional development is taking place throughout life due to the large growth of information volume and technologies. Information and communication competence (IC competence) is one of eight key kinds of competence which facilitate continuous education. Mastering basics of information and communication technologies by educators is occurred through traditional forms of organizational work, such as self-education, higher education, training courses in regional institutes of postgraduate education and courses conducted by international IT corporations. According to scientists, the development of IC competence should form in such areas like: the selection of ICT, use of ICT, the development of electronic educational resources. The article examines the ways to develop information and communication competence of preschool educators by studying Ukrainian researchers, specialized literature and websites of preschool education facilities. This article presents a multilevel view of practical experience of preschool educators' IC competence development: national (studying at higher education institutions, providers of educational services), regional (studying in regional institutions of postgraduate education), institutional (organization of educational events by methodologists and preschool management). The review of some educational courses for preschool educators in postgraduate courses in institutions of postgraduate education in Zaporizhzhya, Zhytomyr, Lviv, Rivne, Sumy and Khmelnytsky regions. Determined that a significant part of the training content at this stage is technological literacy. Marked the diversity of pedagogical practices for teaching preschool educators: training seminars, workshops, contests and more. Also article contains findings about main trends of IC competence development of preschool educators. Noted the need to develop structures, factors and models of development for preschool educators’ IC competence which will improve the system of continuous professional education.
